This morning I looked out the front window to see that Mother Nature dropped some wonderful snow all over our front yard. It didn't stick too long, unfortunately, but we did get to see it for an hour or so, drifting softly from the sky. So magical!
These poor little flowers have been trying to bud in our cold weather all week long. But don't they look beautiful covered in snow?
Today was Sadie's first experience with snow. The first thing she did? She walked right over to the fence to see her new boyfriend then, after making sure he was doing ok, she sniffed around the ground, shaking from the cold. I'm not sure how crazy she is about the snow, but I think she'll adjust just fine!
Dallas has recently decided that talking is a whole lot more fun that just babbling. His vocabulary has been increasing daily and we are so excited to hear new words! Some of the most recent words include Sadie, Ah-belle (for Annabelle), Sister, Side (for outside), shoes, and of course, the dreaded "no". I was hoping this word wouldn't come for a while longer, because we all know how much little toddlers use it, but I suppose I have no choice. Though I hate it when the kids tell me no, I can't help but laugh when Dallas does it. I don't want to get into the habit of posting all videos, but you can't understand just how funny his "no" is unless you see it. lol P.S. Please excuse his boogers. I didn't realize he had them until after the video haha!
Annabelle is the angel in our home. She has such a sweet spirit! I really don't think there is a mean bone in her body! Annabelle loves to sing, and her favorite songs are "I Love to see the Temple" and "I am a Child of God". She also loves to sing or hum many of the songs from her favorite movies (and there are a lot of them!!). She is very artistic and musical, talents that she has inherited from both parents. She just told me to write that her favorite movies right now are "Goofy Movie" and "Wizard of Oz" (or as she says it, "Wizar da Boz" lol).
We have video of her singing "I Love to see the Temple" just after her 2nd birthday and it's neat to see how much she has grown since then. This video was taken today after church, age 3 1/2. What a miracle and blessing she is!
I was fortunate enough to marry the love of my life on March 11, 2005 in the Oakland LDS Temple. Dwight and I met in May of 2004, were engaged in Nov 2004, and married 4 short months later. I have found my eternal companion, the love of my life, my soul mate, and my best friend. I never knew I could love someone as much as I love him, and I am so blessed to spend every day with him! I knew after our first date that I was going to marry him, and 5 1/2 years later I can honestly say my gut was right! I cherish every day with him and look forward to spending every day with him for the rest of my life!!
One of the big differences between Annabelle and Dallas is how ticklish Dallas is! We learned this pretty early and he has been the source of lots of laughter over the last year and a half. Tonight I discovered just how ticklish his back is! He has the funniest little laugh, and it always brings a smile to my face! Love my little buddy!!
Our costumes this year were last minute, as usual! ;) Thinking Annabelle would want to be a princess (since she so loves Princess Belle) I searched high and low but couldn't find a Belle dress. When I called from Walmart, out of ideas, we asked Annabelle what she wanted to be for Halloween. We told her some of the choices and as soon as she heard "a witch" she said with such excitement, "YEAH! A WITCH!" But of course! I thought! She's so into Wizard of Oz right now! (Annabelle calls it "wizar da boz") So perfect! And what a great little witch she was, too!
Dwight found this Yoda costume at Walgreens, of all places! It was so cute, we just couldn't resist! If Yoda was this cute in Star Wars, it would be my favorite movie! Best of all, he didn't mind his "ears" at all and kept them on through the entire ward party and while we were trick-or-treating! What a trooper!
Our first snow came the week before Halloween. Annabelle was mesmerized by the beautiful flakes! Unfortunately, none of the snow stuck, but I've been told we'll be getting more than we bargained for in a couple of months! Quite honestly, this family can't wait!!
Being a kid is great! We have so many leaves this year because of all the trees in our back and front yards. We had a break from the cold this week, so Dwight took the kids out back with their cousin, Cali, and friend, Henry, to play in the leaves. They played for hours! And even better still was when Annabelle and her cousin, Cali, helped Dwight clean up the leaves after playing in them. He loaded up their little wheelbarrows and they wheeled them over to our planter boxes and dumped them out. Who says yard work isn't any fun?!
